I have a question for all of you, my readers. What inspires you? What makes you feel like you could make anything - or one thing? The most beautiful thing in the world too. At least it will be to you. And that is the important part.
I look at the things I have made, dream of the things I hope to make, and wonder where all of the creativity is supposed to come from. Even though I love what I do, I often feel like I am missing something, the something that makes a product or company go from good to great. But - I am still trying and pushing through it. And the light at the end of the tunnel is that I will have not one, but two, completed collections ready for you by Christmas time for all of your gift needs. =)
Something I like to do for inspiration is wander through the many beautiful items I find on Etsy. I came across some really beautiful ones recently and thought I would share it with you:
- Awesome fall candy!!! It would awesome anytime but they are fully customizable and look scrumptious!
- A new shop on Etsy with some great looking rings! I love the strong silver look to a bunch of these pieces and am excited for this vendor!
- Couldn't help but laugh at this one! =) If I had a reason to hang it, I definitely would put a sign like this up!
- This was the sweetest thing! I love it and will definitely be gifting this to someone soon! =)
Have a beautiful day!

Some exciting news!
Hey everyone!
So I thought I would let you know about some things that are in the works for Sense and Sensibility that I am very, very, excited about.
1) We are revamping our look. =) I am looking for a look that is representative of what kind of jewelry we make and what inspires us. You can see a little peek at the Etsy site where the banner is getting a facelift that looks great so far!
2) New collections!!! You have already seen my girlfriends collection that is inspired by women in my life and now that we have that one ironed, I have two more in the works and I really hope you will like it! Since my first collection was based on people, the next two are going to be drawing on inspiration from places. And that is all I am going to tell you right now. =)
3) New items being added to Etsy. I have been a little busy this past month but I am getting back into the swing of things and my Etsy will be catching up also. =)
Thank you for your continued reading! I really appreciate it!

Some thoughts on color
Alright everyone. I'm putting this out there for everyone to know exactly what I think:
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A BORING COLOR!!!
I had the privilege of selling my jewelry at a fundraiser for a wonderful woman who could really use our help (if you are interested in knowing more about what I'm talking about, check out the fundraiser item on my Etsy). As I was talking to the someladies who were looking at my jewelry, the topic of color came up. My displays a generally colorful and my jewelry definitely favors bright colors in classic combinations. One new friend, Andrea, said she knew that she wore "boring" colors but couldn't help it - that was what she liked.
Here is an honest opinion for ladies out there who think they need to keep up with the latest and greatest fashions and color palettes: your favorites are the latest and greatest for you. Regardless of whether you like hot pink or a mousy grey, you will wear what you like the best.
But in addition to the fact that you are most confident in what you are most comfortable in, color is just another tool in your fashion arsenal. While the "season" system is not always the most accurate, it does give women (and men) the understanding that certain colors look better on you than others. HOWEVER: this does not mean that those other colors will look bad on you. Simply that you will have strengths and weaknesses in complimenting your skin tone or eyes or shoes or jewelry or whatever the case may be.
So next time you stand in front of your closet and think, "Man, I have a lot of black (or white or fill-in-the-blank with the most popular color in your wardrobe)" change it into something more like, "Hmm...this little black dress would look awesome with some teal shoes and matching clutch" or "That grey shell and cardigan could have more variety with some red jewelry."
The secret to colors is to have variety and the ability to mix things up. So instead of tossing that plain blue t-shirt, layer it with another tank top or put a scarf on or a necklace that adds color. You probably have more options than you know already in your closet. Go and have some fun with mixing and matching!

WiSh LiSt!!!
I love creating. I know I keep saying that but it helps me to remember why I am doing this and keep myself going. But I also love looking at other artists and making my own wishlist. So here are a few items from my personal Etsy wishlist. =)
1) I LOVE this bag - it is one of the items I've been saving up for the longest. And I'm pretty sure I want it in that color but she has so many beautiful items and colors that I have yet to definitely decide on one. Which is also part of why I have yet to get one.
2) This jeweler is another Hawaii girl who makes some beautiful pieces and I love her stackable ring sets! I'm eyeing some her blue combinations for before the summer is over.
3) This belt is adorable! I love wearing solid color dresses so I can accessorize in other ways and this belt is definitely high on my list!
4) I have a thing for peacock feathers. I also have a thing for clutches. This seller does both and I want it. =)
5) I know more than a few people (myself included) who have a hard time keeping plants alive. Now I don't have to worry about that with this item! I can't get over how cute it is!
I think that is a good healthy start to my wish list. It is always growing so I will keep you all updated when I get new things added to my list!
Have a beautiful day!
P.S. One of my friends modeled some of my pieces a little while ago and I thought she looked beautiful so I wanted to share this picture with you.

What is this all about?
So I have read many blogs and there are more than a few that I really like. And I tend to read the blogs of people that I wish I could be like (this is one of my favorites).
I think part of the appeal of crafting for me is that I can be an artist with a fair amount of anonymity. Don't get me wrong, if someone really loved my designs and wanted to make it big, I would probably be ecstatic. However, that isn't really my goal at this point. I am an office manager who simply dreams of bigger things than the amount of mail I get to open in a week. So I want something more...but I'm not about to quit my day job and go around applying for jobs that I am fairly certain I can't get. But making jewelry and selling on Etsy is my smaller dream. It is my shot at that something more that a lot of us keep reaching for. And I can do it slowly, at my own pace, safely, and without significant economic strain from the comfort of my own home.
So this blog...this anonymous shout out to the world...is my expression of the dream I hope many of you will pursue - even in small and anonymous ways.
