no...no, it can't have been five months already!

It is Hito's five month birthday today...I feel old and young and excited and a little sad and lots of other stuff all at once.  I can barely believe that my little one is already holding his head up, laughing, smiling, wanting to touch a bunch of stuff.

It is a joy.  One that I look forward to everyday...

already checkin' things out!
he likes watching tv already too!
my handsome, growing boy.  =)  I know, I'm a little mushy today.
Have a beautiful day!

valentines!

Hello all!  I hope that you all have pleasant days planned for yourself regardless of your relationship status.  (Personally, I think the 15th is the sweeter day - some of the best deals on candy all year long.  And it is my mom's birthday!  So happy early birthday and let's go candy shopping.)  =D

But I had to throw a little note in here about my husband.  He is the greatest guy ever (no, I'm not biased at all).  =P  He got me an early Valentines present over the weekend that I am totally in love with.  I'm trying to figure out how to display them somewhere where I will see them regularly.

he got me his & hers domos!!!
don't they look just like us?  =P
Hallmark, eat your heart out.  This is the sweetest valentines.  =)  (Don't know who Domo is?  It's ok.  Wikipedia is here to help. And yes, I do have a thing for odd animated little characters...which you might already know if you follow this blog.)  =D  Now I have to go make the hubby a dinner that will match these plushies.

Have a beautiful day!

make it better Monday ~ father & son edition

I haven't done one of these in a while and thought I'd just share a little something that I have been treasuring very much recently.

dad and baby...

There is little that can describe the feeling of peace and pure joy that a mother and wife feels when she sees two of the most precious people in her life living, playing, loving...eating...each other. =P  This does a lot for carrying me through the hard times and making this Monday a lot better.

Have a beautiful day!

wedding frenzy pt. 2

There has been ALOT going on with wedding stuff over the weekend.  Invitation details are being finalized, paper is being ordered, and lots of talking about the rest of the event is going on.  But in the midst of all of it, I realized I need something to wear.  =P  Duh, I know.  But I've been thinking so much about other stuff that I had almost forgotten...almost.  But now that I have remembered, I am mixing in a little internet window shopping with my planning.

My first picks are from the fabulous dress company, Shabby Apple.  I already own one dress from them and am eagerly looking for my next buy.  These are my current top picks.  Your thoughts?
The Mauna Kea dress.  It also comes in a gorgeous yellow and teal color...I can't decide!!! And the wedding is going to be in Hawaii - it seemed appropriate.  =)
and then there is this beauty: the Pina Colada.  I am falling in love with this beautiful yellow print but this dress also comes in a beautiful magenta and jade color.
But as I was generally browsing around the interwebs, I found this Etsy seller who has some gorgeous looking dresses!
Beautiful maxi dress! I was thinking this would be beautiful if I substituted the sash for a metallic belt, maybe something with a little bling?  Or a nice chunky necklace?
And then another one of my favorite Etsy sellers is Ananya.  I have bought some of the skirts that they are known for and they are beautiful (super comfortable and easy to wear).  So I went back and was browsing through the shop again and came across two skirts that I think I can dress up really easily for the wedding and still be able to wear it again!
Full Circle Skirt: wouldn't this be uh-dorable with a nice fitted blouse, chunky jewelry, and chunky heels?
Long Skirt with POCKETS!!! (how useful will those be since I am the wedding planner?!)  I love the simple styling that they have in the picture and I can pick the color too.  This might be getting to be a favorite.
Alright everyone, now that I have shared some of my picks, I need your input!!!  I'm starting to drown in options!  What should I wear?!?

Have a beautiful day and I hope to hear your opinion soon!

little things, big smiles

Do you know why I like Fridays?  Besides the obvious anticipation of looking forward to the weekend and two glorious days of (mostly) obligation-free activities with the hubby and baby, Fridays are my day to try and wrap my week up.  And this week, that is easy because it has been a chaotic but fantastic week.   Thanks to Lindsay, you all get to share it with me too.  =)

Aisle to Aloha

1) Productivity
This week was remarkably productive (something I hope to be able to maintain momentum on!).  I did laundry, cooked meals (with enough to freeze for the future), designed wedding invitations, blogged, and will work on making jewelry today!...at least that's the plan.  =P
(yes, yes, I do play with my beads before I turn them into something.  the color is soooo much fun,  I can't help it!)

2) Beautiful weather
It was beautiful this week in SoCal.  The skies were blue, blue, blue.  Breezes kept things fresh and crisp. And all the windows and doors in my house were open for as long as was possible.
this was right outside my bedroom window the other day...it was glorious.

3) The Rooter Man
This week our laundry sink stopped up putting a halt on my laundering for two days.  So this makes me smile because it went from this:
(bad, very bad)
to this:
(wonderful, clear, draining pipes)
A little weird?  Yeah...but it was a big little thing to me this week!  There is a back log of hubby's work clothes and baby things that need catching up on!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a beautiful day!
