Cold Hands, Warm Hearts wonderfulness!!!

I love bloggers who do things with their blogs.  When I grow up, I want to be just like the ladies who put together this swap again for the second year in a row.  So thanks Sandy & Ilene!!!

But to explain a little more clearly for those of you who may not be familiar with the project, you signed up, were paired with a partner, and then put together a little care package that had to include a pair of mittens/gloves/something that keeps your hands warm.  It is a blast (if you haven't done it before, you should mark your calendars for next year because it is so fun)!  Anyway, getting to the point.  I got paired with this amazing lady this year named Tahnie.  She has a blog called "a happy girl" where she talks about her life, family, and health struggles.  You should go read her blog - it is happy and positive and encouraging (I am even willing to be put on pause so that you go over and say hi to her now).

Now the part you've been waiting for.  =)  My box = awesomeness.  And rather than talking anymore, I'll just show you.

do you see that?  it is a super sparkly green box.  my fav color! (and it sparkles!!!!)
and these are my great gifts!!! amazingly cute green fingerless mittens with a pull over part, a mini mani/pedi kit, bath gel, nail polish, and journal!  it's all pretty awesome.  =)
this nail polish is the bomb!  gunmetal color and it really does wear incredibly well.
Thanks again, Tahnie!!!  I love it all!

Have a beautiful day, everyone!

cold hands, warm hearts, and holidays around the corner!!!

Happy Thursday, folks!

I hope you are having a happy Thursday.  Or at least a productive one with the weekend in sight!  I just wanted to share a quick post of a few different things going on.

First, it was cold in Cali this morning!!!  So I made myself my (decaf) coffee and decided that a hot hard boiled egg sounded good.  Don't ask me why...I guess my cravings are back with a vengenance now that I'm not pregnant anymore.  (I actually had less cravings while I was pregnant than I did before...or after)  =P

Second,  it's time for the Cold Hands, Warm Hearts Swap again!!!  Two of my favorite bloggers (who actually inspired me to keep working on my blog and keep inspiring me with yummy recipes, D.I.Y ideas, and fantastic outfit posts) are hosting this wonderful swap again!  You really do need to check it out and get to meet a new friend and get an early Christmas present!!!  I had a wonderful time talking to my partner, getting to know her, reading about everyone else's experiences, and generally sharing the experience that I am very excited to do it again! (I already signed up.  You should too!!!)

Thirdly,  Sense and Sensibility Designs is slowly getting her holiday act together and there are new items in the store!  You should check it out and keep coming back because the fun (and new products) will be coming over the next few days!  I hope you like them!  (**Teaser alert! Keep coming back to the blog too because there are going to be some deals and special products for the holidays that you won't want to miss!**)

Have a beautiful day, everyone!

11th Deal til Christmas

Well, the weather in Southern California is not appropriately COLD!!!  It dropped into the low 60s today and it is a lovely day to stay in next to my heater with a cup of coffee/tea that I keep refilling every so often to keep my insides warm!  =)  But it is also great blogging and jewelry making weather so I am going to work on knocking all my work out today!

How are you spending your Wednesday?

Today's Deal til Christmas is 25% off of Emily Earrings with Coral, Citrine, and Peridot!  I love the strong geometric shape in this style.  I have always loved hoop earrings but got bored of the simple silver things you see so often.  This is my take on hoop earrings that are fun, colorful, and super easy to wear!

Have a beautiful and warm day!!!  =)

My Package from Cold Hands, Warm Hearts

So I had a rather largish box waiting for me when I got back from Arizona yesterday and could barely wait to get my things put down so I could open it!  And I was ecstatic with what was in it!!!  I was soooo excited to join Cold Hands, Warm Hearts and got a wonderful partner and someone I think (I hope) will be a great pen-pal!

I had a whole big box full of beautifully wrapped little gifts that have made my day and very possibly, the rest of my week!!!  I put the boxes under my jewelry tree to show you how awesome my swap partner is!!!  As you can see, I got an amazing assortment of little goodies!  I got a scarf, mittens, beads, green tea, coffee, peppermint stick, soap, pancake mix, syrup, hotpads, spatula, handmade Christmas ornaments, and two amazing little things that made my day!

In our correspondence, Morgana and I had talked about several different things.  She told me about her favorite scent company, Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, and I had never heard of them before.  So as I opened the little packages that were under my little tree, I was thrilled to find a little bottle of an amazing scent!  But more than any of these things, I LOVE this gift!

This beautiful little item is a hand made canvas tote featuring my logo and website!!!  I was so confused when I saw Morgana's little sneak peak picture but I am LOVING the actual item!!!  The logo flower is made of felt, exactly the color of my logo and she also made a little matching card case!  I have such a talented swap partner!!!  Ah!!!  I LOVE IT!!!  =)

Morgana, I am so thankful that I got you as my swap partner!  You have inspired me by your creativity and sincerity about your life and family.  I was so blessed by this swap and can't wait to keep in touch!

Have a beautiful day and I hope you all have a chance to get such a great package too!

23 Deals til Christmas

The great thing about these deals is that it makes me excited to help other people do holiday shopping but it is also scaring me because I realize then that I have to get a move on with my Christmas shopping.  =)  But today's 23rd Deal til Christmas is 25% off of Corrine Earrings in Watermelon Shades!  I love these earrings that have a great color palette of deep greens and rich wine reds!

In other exciting news, I am so excited for the fast coming conclusion to the Cold Hands and Warm Hearts Swap I am participating in!  I have had a blast getting to know Morgana from seemorganacook and shopping/crafting for her gift!

And she is teasing me with a teeny little picture of what she is sending me!  =)  But it has been a great experience and I am so glad to have a new penpal and friend!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend ahead of you!  I will be in Arizona with my mother-in-law and her side of the family which is always a blast!  And my little sister has a ballet performance on Saturday which I always love hearing about since I can't be in Hawaii to see this one!  =)  You will be hearing more about it and seeing pictures as I can get them to you.

Have a beautiful weekend!

"Just another manic Monday..."

So after a lovely birthday weekend (thanks for all the birthday greetings!), everything is back to the fast and faster pace of what is seeming to be the normal life.  But!  I have some exciting things going on so I thought to myself, "Aime, you should write some of this down so you don't forget it."  So I am writing it down.  =)  You, my dear readers, get to help keep me accountable and tell me to keep working and stop getting sucked into the glorious world of handmade things on Etsy!  (I admit it...I waste a lot of time admiring and drooling over other artists on Etsy...I will try harder to get work done.)  =)

Cold Hands, Warm Hearts!!!

I am so excited to be a part of this!!!  I love Sandy and Ilene and thought this was a great idea!  I almost didn't end up doing it because I wasn't sure I would be able to commit to the idea but I am so glad i did. The idea of a present before Christmas is making me feel like a little kid again!  =)
When you read about it on their blogs, think about it as a good way to do office holiday gift exchanges or long distance with your family!  I wish I had been creative enough to do something like this while I was in college!  It would have been great for girls' dorms!

Birthday Giveaway!!!
I'm afraid I didn't make this very clear in my last post but I am leaving the giveaway open for one week!  So I will do the drawing and announce the winner this coming Saturday, November 13th!  So please feel free to keep spreading the word about it and letting people know to enter! Here are the instructions to enter one more time:
1) check out and heart my Etsy store (snsnsnsibility.etsy.com)
2) tell me what your favorite item is
3) share it with your friends on twitter or facebook
4) comment here on my blog telling me about it!

If you have already done all of the above, then I have your entry and you don't need to worry about doing it again (unless you feel like spreading the word about Sense and Sensibility out of the goodness of your heart!)  =)

Birthday Doings
So I had a lovely, but interesting, birthday weekend.  My hubby took me to Disneyland that day and we were waiting to go on my favorite ride (which is Toy Story Midway Mania) when all of a sudden everyone in this line we were standing in started coughing!  It started with one person and slowly spread through this little room (if you have been to any Disney amusement park, you have a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about).  Throats were burning and it was painful to breath - a unique experience for standing in line.  It felt like coughing was the only way to get rid of it but it wasn't really working.  We finally get out of there and find out after the ride that apparently someone had let loose some pepper spray in these close quarters...not the smartest or kindest thing I've ever had someone do at Disneyland.
But the day got better when my hubby took me on a shopping trip to Anthropologie - probably my all-time favoritest place to shop outside of Etsy.  =D  I get a birthday card with a very nice discount from them every year and that is usually when I go and this year, I got this:
anthropologie.com
Mine is a black stripe but you get the idea.  I LOVE it!  Super comfy and versatile so I can wear it for many occasions and wear it to pieces before the end of winter.  =)

Excitement!
I got a post on my Facebook page today from an old college dorm mate of mine, Kellie.  She was a bridesmaid in August and asked me to custom make her jewelry.  Here is the picture (Kellie is on the right)!  Isn't she beautiful?!
a closer view of Kellie's jewelry!

That is most of what I've had going on recently.  But I really wanted to share some of these things with you - these are the things that keep me excited and motivated to keep creating!  And having said that, now I have jewelry I need to go and make.  =)
